In reality, Mosquito is...actually part mosquito. Seriously. Not so much that he looks like some unholy abomination, but enough to make it noticable (especially concerning his eyes) and affect his body.
He's a genetic experiment of sorts, so the scientists have been monitoring him since day one.
He's sensitive about it, but he can't help but feel some sort of familiarity.
