Decided to flip that last picture around for the heck of it. Now you know why Joel looked so scared.
But to back up, before Noir had her little freak out at Gabe, she had been captured, but because of the nature of her powers, Matthew let her "train" with Hurricane in order to control them instead of just imprisoning her. Plus, she had already been able to show some restraint, as her Nephilim side wouldn't let her hurt Matt.
But why does she freak out at him if she seems to be getting along? All in due time, all in due time (read: tune in tomorrow).
