Stephanie liked to decieve people, so she made sure her golem had the power to shapeshift.
However, it entirely depends on Painter's acting skills, and the gullibility of his victims.
He can also create solid paint structures, but only with the paintbrushes and paint he gets from his pockets (as the paint actually comes from his own body). It's not good for offense, but it helps for getaways.
Because of his shapeshifting powers and his childlike nature, he became a certain someone's best friend.

If Matthew has anything resembling a super power, its to be able to see through disguises. Or at least know Hurricane waaay too well XD
