Towards the end of their trip, Corey has to go to the bathroom. That's normal. So he does. But he's lost track of the others and takes a wrong turn, heading into a few tents, thinking they might just be inside somewhere.
He doesn't find his friends, but he does see this doll. Perhaps someone lost it? He goes to pick it up, and, well...
The doll was a cursed one, set there by carnies to lure in a victim to become the next venue at their freak show.
And he has a roommate!
