This is a cast lineup for a roleplay with the friend that told me to make the qliph (and really, without this roleplay, I don't think half of these aliens would exist, either).
Basically, the plot is that humans have discovered other planets, but instead of just barging in on the natives, have decided to take in willing volunteers who (through SCIENCE!) turn into the native species, and can sort of research incognito in a more "natural" fashion.
It's a lot better than it sounds. And lots of fun.
