robot masters

The meks' design has always bothered me--they looked too futuristic, looked too much like robots instead of people wearing armor. I never was too fond of the "cybernetic limb" idea, either; while they do have some prosthetics (namely their eyes), casual replacement of limbs seems way too anachronistic for the rest of Rixile's technological level.

So what we have here is something more along the lines I want. Instead of full out armor, they have plating (usually integrated with their clothes) and generally like to wear heavy layers. Lower castes wear more armor, since they do harder labor.

They end up looking like they're wearing some sort of dystopic uniform, but that's sort of their gist. It's better than looking like a robot.
