January 2009:
My friend: "I like aliens. I like you. Why don't you make some aliens?"
Me: "If I can think of something."
Then I remembered a couple of characters.
Then this happened.
And that's all the qliph were for a few months, until I decided, "You know, humans have tons of variation from person to person, primarily the face. Why don't I try doing that with the qliph to see if I can make distinct characters?"
And that spawned the cast (you can tell I reused a few of those faces for some of them).
Shazam!
Inspirations for their planet and their plight came from Meteos (the planet Boggob), Patapon, and Pikmin.

It was more entertaining that X-Men Origins! =P
ReplyDeleteI really like how you tried to vary up their faces like humans. I think that's sadly neglected in a lot of fictional worlds. And the different looks still all look good! Hooray.
Once again I have to say how much I love these guys, as a species and as individuals...they're so quirky and eccentric, and the variety stands out well despite their similar physiology 8D
