conlangs are fun

Being the miserable nerd I am, I've been slowly constructing a qliph language, called Xiloren (literally meaning "word," since they have oh so original naming schemes). Well, sort of. I make words for it on or off, mainly when I want a "real" qliph phrase, or if there's a language barrier in a roleplay. Otherwise it just kinda sits around.Anyway, I made the alphabet recently. There're only 13 English letters, but through combinations and different sounds, Xiloren has 19. Each letter has one sound only.

I imagine a qliph "accent" would have trouble with languages that have things spelled differently than they're pronounced. Like English.

  1. That is awesome, but I'm gonna have to admit, I can't get my head around it.

And that is why I could never learn Japanese XD

  2. That is totally awesome and I can't help but love you a bit more for it.

Some of the characters look like the Japanese katakana alphabet, although not with the same sound attached to them--kinda cool (assumedly accidental) similarity, though.
