Anyone read that story on dA involving Arc and Painter?
Friends!
I've realized that my stories often follow a pattern when it comes to how long-lasting they are. It makes a lot of sense and it's probably what a lot of you do in the first place if you have a story, so it's not anything odd.
When I first make a story, I plan it, obviously. II has a lot of unused potential characters from that. Then I post it around once it gets stable enough, like the character weeks. Then it usually sits for a bit--or several years (RR)--and I critique myself, removing unnecessary characters and fine-tuning the ones that stay.
II is in that second phase. I'm reevaluating things, some brought up in the rants.
One concern is Volt! He needs a design tweak. He needs an actual outfit.
Here's one idea, sort of a military flavor. He still needs someone to block his powers, but here he's at least a little covered (it's probably the same material as Toxin's suit and resists electricity, but his hands are free to attack).

Hooray! He's not naked any more! XD
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, stories are very much like fine wines - they go through a long process of maturing and, usually, become fuller and richer as a result of said process. Even after assessing the script to OH at least three times, I was finding dialogue that could have been worded better, plot points that could have been executed smoother.
That jacket looks good on him.
